Welcome to Galveston Fishing Pier
Galveston Fishing Pier was built in 1971. It was a favorite spot for fishermen for 37 years. On September 13th 2008 Hurricane Ike hit Galveston and devastated the Island. The Pier sustained severe damage. Galveston Island has come back beautifully from the storm and we at the Galveston Fishing Pier intend to rebuild a stronger and better pier. We are working with engineers right now on our new design and as soon as we have our approvals from the Texas General Land Office and the City of Galveston we will begin construction. We have missed all of our friends, many of whom are like family, and are very excited about our new Pier.
Galveston Fishing Pier has been a great provider of fishing and fun for many. There has been more than one record made at the Pier like the state record tarpon caught by one of our many season pass holders. We had hundreds of extraordinary fishing photos shot on the pier all of which are gone. Please feel free to submit your Galveston Fishing Pier photos as we will be restarting this tradition at the Pier as soon as we open. We will be posting updates to our progress here at our website and would love to also post any fishing pier pictures you have (send to galvestonfishingpier@comcast.net ).
